The Canton Development Partnership is a coalition of area development organizations and city government that share an interest in downtown Canton’s continual improvement, revitalization, image, and quality of life for its citizens.
Its mission is to support and coordinate the activities and programs of its partner organizations in order to encourage and sustain community and economic development in downtown Canton.
The partner organizations include: Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Canton Special Improvement District, Downtown Canton Land Bank, Canton Tomorrow, Inc., and City of Canton.
Special Improvement District
The Downtown Canton Special Improvement District (SID) provides programming to preserve the economic wellbeing of downtown Canton. The SID is a quasi-governmental organization that was created by City Council ordinance. The district is operated by a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization; funding for the SID comes from special assessments on downtown property owners. The SID concentrates its efforts on Downtown Aesthetics, Downtown Marketing and Economic Development.
Downtown Canton Land Bank
The Downtown Canton Land Bank (DCLB), Corp. acquires, assembles and disposes of land located within the City of Canton’s central business district and surrounding areas to facilitate downtown real estate development.
Canton Tomorrow Inc.
Canton Tomorrow Inc. is a public/private partnership which recognizes that the vitality of our central city sustains our community’s sense of history, self-image, and quality of life. Canton Tomorrow Inc. will be a catalyst to bring together the vision, initiative and action necessary for the continuing revitalization of the central city.
City of Canton
Located in northeastern Ohio, the City of Canton provides its residents with many benefits of big-city living while maintaining its charm as a medium-sized Midwestern town. Canton is home to such well-known national landmarks as the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame, the William McKinley Presidential Library/National Monument, and the National First Ladies Library and Research Center.
The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization of more than 1,600 institutions and individuals dedicated to the advancement of the economic, industrial, professional, cultural and civic welfare of Stark County. The mission of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce is to serve our Members through partnership, programs, services and events to advance the economic growth of Canton and the Stark County region.
